We have concluded the State Badnminton Championship on 16^th August2012

.Mr.I.Srinivas ,Principal secretary to Govt. Of Odisha was the ChiefGuest of that evening and distributed the prizes.

The Championship given few upsets in each events shows the competitiveness is growing.I have seen the players in last year and today their performance is very remarkable.I hope if we continue the efforts with a systematic manner then we can have presence in national level.

We are constantly following the sports department of Odisha and Badminton Association for better infrastructure  in our state. Govt. of Odisha agreed to provide an acdemy in Odisha after consultation with Mr.Prakash Padukon and Mr.Gopichand ,the two legends of  Badminton producing talents.

Besides this Govt agreed to avail facilities for badminton in all districts where the Indoor Halls are available by upgrading the infrastructure

This year our association Plan to  sponsor kits to promising players in different category.We will also provide shuttles to the organisor of any ranking tournaments at subsidized rates.

The role of media in popularizing is also very encouraging.

CIRCULAR: STATE CHAMPIONSHIP=2012

The following players will play directly in main round.Besides these, all other players in Mens’singles,Boys singles U-19 and  Boys SinglesU-17 will play in qualifying round which will start from 13^th august-2012.Player playing in qualifying round will report on 13^th August 2012  at Saheed Nagar Indoor hall by 9.30am and main draw player will report  on 14thaugust2012 by 11.30 am to Mr. Manoj Kumar Sabat, Chief Referee for schedule of   matches and  for accommodation contact to Mr. Kartik Ch.Das/ Mr. M.K Sabat, Chief Referee at the venue.

The maindraw matches will be from 2pm 14thAugust-2012.

The players who have entered their name  in more than two events will be deleted from higher groups than their age group both in qualifying and maindraw. For any clarification players may contact Mr.Manoj Kumar Sabat, Chief referee (Mobile no 07205858948)

The fixture for qualifying will be released on 12-8-2012

PRESS RELEASE NOTE:

It is matter of great pride that Orissa State Badminton Association after a long spell of twelve years is going to host the East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship Tournament at the monumental Indoor Stadium of millennium city of Cuttack from 31^st August to 2^nd September 2012.,

      Six states such as Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal and Odisha are participating in this mega event. More than 120 state level players both in Women & Men events are going to play in the tournament. Furthermore, 10 officials of Badminton Association of India (BAI), 6 Team Managers and Coach along with more than 40 local management Officials and Volunteers are also converging to make the Tournament a grand success.

      In this context, the Organizing Committee convened a meeting on 29^th July 2012 at 6:00 PM in the OOA Conference Hall under the patronage of Mr. Asirbad Behera, Secretary, Odisha Olympic Association & Odisha Cricket Association. Mr. Prabahat Palit, Chairman, Organizing Committee discussed all aspects regarding smooth management of the forthcoming East Zone Tournament. Mr. Pradip Mohanty, Secretary presented the budget and formed various Committees with the consent of the Members present. Accordingly, the following members were opted to head various committees::
