Pl analyse ourselves

The senior  National championship for the 2015-16 was delayed and  lastly it was held from 7th to 10th April  2016. At Chandigarh
This year in national  players were given good result

From Odisha  this year one team consists of champions of the state were participated.Unfortunately three girls who were serving in the AG office were not  participated and we could not able to replace them as at last moment they were withdrawn from the championship. What I found they are not serious for the state badminton. We could have sent alternate players for the championship if they could have intimated us much earlier.
In women section only Miss Rutaparna participated and  lost in second round

In men section we have again put ourselves in a  miserable condition. In   Mens singles event
Mr Gurbakhs Sing of AG  and Mr Soumen of Rourkela lost to very unseeded players
In Mens Doubles the defending champion of our state Mr.Kamal Das and Mr Promod Rana lost miserably from Taminadu players
Is this our badminton ?

For the last 39years after Late Sanat Mishra, not a single player  of Odisha did not able to cross prequarter final and if I am correct not even second round   in National championships.
Only last two years junior boys and girls made some mark by reaching qurterfinal in national/Zonal Championships Last year Miss Rutaparna Panda got bronze at Cochin U17 ranking championship  from qualifying round but lost due to lack of consistency in next championship at Dehradoon
The seniorplayers were never come up to the expectation  because internal   intetolerance among them to lead the state in national Badminton arena.

The Players are more interested to play prize money tournaments  which results no constant partnership among them and affects  the result of state in national and zonal championships. We have supported them for the game and regulated by registering  the championships with some regulations but some seniorpayers defied indirectly with support of organizers  and created an  indifferent environment for badminton where there is no growth  nor ambition to lead the state in Nationals.

Our players suceed in their departmental championships but not in the nationals. WHY???????????

Players were encouraged by organizers to play in lower groups by manipulating their age but their success could not able to get them a  placement in state/central departments due to manipulation of age.
Whose fault?????????????Who are responsible  for spoiling the players carrier by their wroung   advice????????????

Is our organizers and players  ever analysed the reasons for these result?

My request to players  think big to achieve which will fulfil the ambitions of their as well as people of our state
Also to the organizers to  think beyond their entertainment badminton  to a competitive badminton  environment which will give  a growth to players and simulteneously they get the entertainment.

I invite suggestions from players as well  as organisors/badminton lovers   for growth of badminton in our state in  coming years by email to shuttleodisha @gmail.com
