ORISSA STATE BADMINTON ASSOCIATION - IN A GLANCE AT PRESENT

Association:

The Odisha State Badminton Association is a State association for development of the sport of Badminton in Odisha , registered under society act vide Reg No:  CTC-1226-913 of 1081-81   and is affiliated to Badminton Association of India                   

It has a Constitution according to which ( article No: 05) the representatives of the Affiliated Districts are the members of OSBA. The life members/annual members and honourary members are also the members of osba but without voting rights

Now there are eighteen districts which are affiliated to OSBA at present namely

2)Balasore districtbadminton association

3)Bhubaneswar District Badminton association

4)Cuttack Disrict BadmintonAssociation

5)District Badminton Association ,Balangir

6)Keonjhar District Badminton Association

7)Disrict Badminton Association Sonepur

8Dhenkanal District Badminton Association

9)Ganjam District Badminton Association

10)Jajpur District Badminton Association

11)Kalahandi badminton Association

12)Kendrapara District Badminton Association

13)Khurda Badminton Association

14)Mayurbhanj District Badminton Association

15)Phulbani  disrtict Badminton association

The council is of the nature in accordance to article17 of the constitution

One representative from Odisha Olympic Association is also a member with voting right(as per amended constitution)

The present council started functioning in pursuance-to the election conducted on 26-6-2011 vide resolution. And with provisionallyrecognised by  Badminton Association of India vide office order  no BAI/PREZ dt 11-9-2011

Election:

Keeping in view for the preparations of Voter List for 2015 elections, the Secretaries of the affiliated districts were requested vide Letter No:osba/2014.14-15/122 dt 29/12/2014 to forward their 1) copy of the constitution 2) Minutes of the Last Election 3) The names of two representatives in accordance to 22 B of the Amended Constitution  But the following districts such as 1)Keonjhar District Badminton Association,2)Jajpurdistrict Badminton Association 3)Kendrapara District Badminton Association 4)Phulbani District Badminton Association,till date have not submitted the above documents.

The secretary DBA, Dhenkanal submitted the names of its two representatives 1)Mr.A.K.Jena Secretary 2) Mr.Sriharsa Routroy Executive member vide their Ref. no SIET/2015/181dt.21-1-2015 ,but inspite of repetitive reminders they have not submitted the required documents as sited above.

          As a result the voter List could not be prepared and so the election was delayed.

Accounts:

Inspite of repeated verbal requests and letter vide Letter No.osba2014-15/da/44 dt 17-5-2015 ,

The treasurer has not submitted the required accounts till date for which the accounts for 2013-14/2014-15 could not be audited and finalized. In this context it is further clarified that the accounts for 2011-12/2012-13 have already been audited and finalized and the accounts for the sub junior nationals held in October,2013 had already been audited.
